Today I realized something simple—but powerful:
So much of life isn’t about figuring out what you should do, could do, or even feel like doing.
It’s about doing what is required.

There are moments when your mind hits a wall.
You can’t process another thought. You can’t plan. You can’t decide.
It feels like your brain is screaming K.O.—completely tapped out.

But life doesn’t always pause when you’re exhausted.

And in those moments, you don’t need more thinking.
You need agreement.

Agreement with reality.
Agreement with what is.
Agreement with what must be done.

Let go of the “shoulds,” the “coulds,” and the “woulds.”
And most importantly—be careful with your feelings.

Because in a state of exhaustion, feelings will lie to you.

So instead, anchor yourself in action.

Stand up.
Stretch.
Zip your jacket.
Grab your keys.
Walk outside.
Take a deep breath.

Don’t overthink the next step. Don’t analyze. Don’t negotiate.
Just follow what you already know.

Drive.
Pick up the kids.
Pump the gas.
Breathe.

See what’s happening?

You’re doing it.
You’re moving.
You’re no longer stuck in your head—you’re in motion.

And from that place, something shifts.

Once the emotional noise quiets and your thoughts begin to return, then you make a plan.

Not for everything. Not for life.
Just for what’s in front of you.

Ask yourself:

  • What needs to be done by the end of today?
  • What needs to be done first thing tomorrow?

Nothing else matters right now.

Break those things down into the smallest possible steps.
Tiny, manageable actions.

Open the notes section in your phone and start writing.
Don’t worry about order. Don’t try to make it perfect.
Just capture the steps as they come to you.

Get them out of your head and onto something solid—quickly, before the overwhelm creeps back in.

You can organize it later.

Right now, the goal is momentum.

Then pause.

Breathe.
Drink some water.
Make yourself a cup of tea.

Do something small—but intentional—that reminds you:
You are cared for. You are supported. You matter.

Add a touch of softness.
A hint of luxury.
A moment of calm in the middle of responsibility.

Let yourself feel that.

Then come back.

Look at your list.
Organize the steps.
You’re closer than you think.

Now take another breath…
and do the next thing.

Not everything.
Not all at once.

Just what is required.

Do what you must.
